Baby Alert Pro User Guide

About Baby Alert Pro:

Baby Alert Pro is an application that is designed to be a replacement baby monitor with unlimited range.

After a noise is heard, Baby Alert Pro can call a phone number or play back a soothing user-recorded sound.

Baby Alert Pro has several distinct features that set it apart from the rest:

  • Full Contact Support – Choose any contact number in your Contact List (Even supports multiple phone #’s within a contact)
  • Optimized Sensitivity Settings – optimized for monitoring infants and toddlers
  • Audible Voice / Sound Recording – Allows parent to record any sound and have it played back if baby starts to cry
  • Accelerometer Triggering – Triggers a call or audio playback when iPhone is moved (Great for use when Toddler is playing in a room and picks up or moves the phone)
  • Monitoring Restart – Application can receive text, email, Outlook Calendar reminders, and other alerts and can continue or resume monitoring. (We Recommend Call Forwarding)

Ideal situations for Baby Alert Pro:

  • When you are away from your baby or toddler and want to be alerted if they start crying or get upset.
  • When you are traveling with your baby to someone’s home, you can use Baby Alert Pro instead of bringing along a full Baby monitoring system.
  • For babies who may sooth themselves through moaning and light crying, Baby Alert Pro is ideal, since it can be set to only trigger an alert when the baby is crying for real attention.

Call Forwarding Instructions:

First, ensure that you have call forwarding configured in the iPhone settings so you don’t miss any calls when you are away.

You should use the following sensitivity setting based upon the situation:

  1. Low should be used when you have toddlers or you only want to be notified if there are very loud sounds.
  2. Medium should be used in most situations.  It is calibrated to be used within two to six feet of most babies.
  3. High can be used in situations where you need to be notified of any disturbances.
  4. Custom is used for when you want to be very specific about the sensitivity level. Move the slider Left for less sensitivity (Noises will need to be louder to trigger an alert) or to the right for more sensitivity (Noises can be softer to trigger an alert)
  5. Accelerometer will initiate a phone call or playback when the phone is moved.

Next, Choose Triggering Criteria:

You’ll notice there are on / off switches for the Accelerometer, the Dial Out function, and the Voice Playback… Select 1 or more of these.

  1. Toggle Accelerometer On if you wish to be alerted or play a sound when the iPhone is moved.
  2. Toggle Dial Out On if you wish to have the application call your designated contact when an alert is triggered.
  3. Toggle Voice Playback if you wish to play a sound when an alert is triggered. (If this option is selected, Dial Out Feature is disabled)

*Note that any these can be toggled on individually only.

Voice Playback:
Voice Playback is a unique feature and allows for the parent to record their own voice or sound and have it played back for the baby or toddler. When the application is triggered through crying or the accelerometer detects movement, the application will playback your recorded sound.
