Elevation Pro

Elevation Pro is an altitude tool built specifically for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Unlike any other application, it is able to provide altitude data on all iPhone and iPod Touch devices — not just the iPhone 3G — because it provides two ways to get your current elevation.

The first method uses the iPhone 3G’s GPS signal to determine your current altitude.

The second method uses the current location reported by the iPhone and iPod Touch (using GPS, cell tower, and WiFi access point triangulation) to query the United States Geological Survey’s massive worldwide elevation data source.

By providing both data sources, you will have two ways to reference your current elevation. If you do not have GPS or your signal is unavailable, you will still have the USGS mapping data source as a way to view your elevation.

Features

  • View two sources of elevation data — GPS and USGS data sources — for unparalleled accuracy
  • iPhone 2G and iPod Touch users can obtain elevation data
  • Eight unique User Interface skins
  • Map your elevation and current location using the built-in Google Maps application
  • Choose to display data in feet or meters

Elevation Pro is available in the iPhone App Store.
