User Guide:
1) Installation
a) Upon installation through the App Store, Elevation Pro will appear on your iPhone / iPod with this icon:
2) Home Screen
Here you can:
- Obtain your Altitude / Elevation for your current location
- Elevation via GPS or USGS.
Hint: USGS is more accurate, but requires an internet connection. GPS is most effective when you don’t have an internet connection but still want to obtain your elevation.
Get Elevation:
a) Touch the red arrow to obtain your current elevation. This will update even as you move or change locations.
b) To Tweet your current elevation, touch the “Share” button in the lower right portion of the screen.
NOTE: This button will only appear if you have properly configured your Twitter account located in the settings tab.
Hint: To continue to receive updated elevation, leave battery saver “off” under the settings tab.
3) Map Screen
Here you can:
- See your current location, indicated by the blue pin on the map.
- Navigate anywhere in the world by pinching to zoom, or swiping your fingers to move around the world map.
- Obtain Navigation for any habitable place on earth.
Obtain Elevation for a point on the Map:
a) To obtain elevation for a particular point on the map, tap the “Acquire Elevation” button.
b) Touch the location on the map for which you want to get the elevation reading.
Hint: To delete an elevation flag or waypoint, tap the red “x” button on the elevation flag.
4) Settings Screen
Here you can:
- Change the units of measure
- Change “Skins”
- Turn on/off battery saver mode
- Authorize or Reset your twitter login credentials
Change Units:
- To change units in Elevation Pro, select the units of measure you’d like by touching feet or meters.
Change Skin:
- Set your default skin or background by touching one of the skin choices on the dial. The app will automatically update and save once you return to any of the other tabs.
Turn on or off battery saver mode:
- Touch the on/off switch to activate / deactivate battery saver mode, which prevents the application from searching for your elevation constantly as you move about.
Twitter configuration:
- To setup twitter authorization, simply enter your twitter login and password. This will punch out to Twitter’s authorization page, which will ask you to “allow” Elevation Pro to access your account. Select “Allow” if you want to share your elevation with people from the Home tab.
- If you decide to no longer use Twitter inside Elevation Pro, or want Elevation Pro to forget your current Twitter settings, touch the “Reset Twitter Login” button. This will remove any current Twitter settings the app has saved.
